As many of you know, Kara is heavily involved with Evangel International, which is a ministry that focuses on an area in Nicaragua about 4-5 hours from Managua. This area receives very little attention from most organizations, and Thom Walker has dedicated his life to serving this unreached area for Jesus Christ.
We are excited to be taking our Son, Malachi, with us to experience his first missions trip, and to get to meet Yedrick, a little boy that he has sponsored for about 2 years through Compassion International. We are praying that God do a work in Malachi’s heart during this trip, and believe we are being obedient to God’s commandment to train him up in the way of the Lord. We are excited about raising each of our 4 children and teaching them to live “on mission” all the time.
We will be leaving for Nicaragua on September 4, 2010 and while Malachi and I will be returning just 8 days later, Kara will be staying an additional two weeks to build relationships with her coworkers and leaders there in El Rama. I know God is doing a great thing in Kara’s heart and we believe that one day she will be leading that ministry, so there is nothing more important than this now. We have no business but this.
This trip is going to run about $2700 for the three of us to go. We have committed to paying $900 of this, and are asking our friends and family to please pray about supporting us financially. Any gift would be very much appreciated. If you can’t give, please consider committing to pray for us. Pray for our safety and protection, but above all, pray God be glorified, no matter what.
We want to say a HUGE thank you to our brother, Ron Armas, for making this video for us. You are truly gifted bro, and we pray this video leads to many more for you. He does weddings like us, so we are all about getting the word out! http://www.vimeo.com/armasvideography
