Day 3 – The Mosquitia People
Our third day here took us up the river about 20 minutes to the Mosquitia people. These are humble people who have very little, and who’s children travel from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours to go to school each day, many without shoes or supplies. The kids here have little hope. In a country where you can go to college for almost free, none of the kids raise their hands when they’re asked if any would like to become doctors or the next president of Nicaragua. Even at 5 years old, they have little to no hope.
